Terra Incognita Exhibition

‘The body is full of contradictions. It is the site of all that is alive in us–the pleasure, the pain, and everything in between. I am interested in the stories that bodies can tell through shape and form. Through expressions of the figure, my work explores themes of grief, chronic pain, joy, and recovery.

‘Undone’ speaks to a moment of celebration, and a return home to my body. After years of injury and illness, I find myself in a body that is free to move and dance again. It feels like a shedding or unravelling of time, as I return to the body I once knew; a body that knows how to dance, to flow, and to be lost in the moment.

“What does it mean to have body?” This question is at the heart of my practice. The question that rings in my ears and threads through every aspect of my work. A question, which will hopefully guide my creative practice for years to come.’
